Lesson 4 of 7

Check the timeline

3 min

See every revenue and cost line placed on the programme.

The "Timeline" tab is a read-only Gantt of the study's line items. It exists to catch timing mistakes — a cost that lands before the start date, or revenue that settles before practical completion.

  1. 1

    Open the Timeline

Select "Timeline". Each revenue and cost line appears as a bar across the study's months, colour-coded by category, with revenue in its own colour.

  2. 2

    Sanity-check the sequence

Look for lines that start too early, run past completion, or all land in one month because a timing field was left at its default.

  3. 3

Fix timing where it is set

Timing is edited on the line item itself in "Revenue & Costs" — the Timeline reflects it, it does not set it.

  4. 4

    Understand why it matters
