Terms of Service

Last updated: 30 July 2026

These Terms of Service (“Terms”) govern access to and use of landaxis.com.au, map.landaxis.com.au, our APIs, and related services (together, the “Platform”) operated by Slate Projects Pty Ltd (ABN 38 633 404 109), trading as Land Axis (“Land Axis”, “we”, “us”, or “our”).

1. Agreement to Terms

By accessing or using the Platform, creating an account, or clicking to accept these Terms, you agree to be bound by these Terms, our Privacy Policy, and our Acceptable Use Policy. If you do not agree, you must not use the Platform.

If you use the Platform on behalf of a company or other organisation, you represent that you have authority to bind that organisation to these Terms, and “you” includes that organisation.

2. Who we are

3. Description of the Platform

Land Axis provides property development feasibility and planning-intelligence tools for Australia. Depending on your plan and account type, features may include:

  • Map search and display of planning, cadastral, and related geospatial context (including map.landaxis.com.au and embedded map experiences);
  • Site attributes and development-potential indicators;
  • Feasibility studies and scenarios (revenues, costs, financing, cashflow, tax modelling, and related KPIs);
  • Document upload, AI-assisted feasibility import, and study chat features;
  • Reporting, export, and workspace tools for teams;
  • Subscription billing and account administration.

Features, coverage, and data layers may change over time. Geographic focus and data availability may vary by region. We may add, modify, or remove features without obligation to maintain any particular capability indefinitely.

4. Data disclaimer — important

ALL DATA, OUTPUTS, AND CALCULATIONS ON THIS PLATFORM ARE FOR INFORMATIONAL AND PRELIMINARY MODELLING PURPOSES ONLY. THEY MUST NOT BE RELIED UPON AS PROFESSIONAL, LEGAL, PLANNING, SURVEY, VALUATION, FINANCIAL, TAX, OR INVESTMENT ADVICE.

While we make reasonable efforts to source data from authoritative government and third-party providers, Land Axis makes no representation or warranty, express or implied, that any data, layer, attribute, envelope, massing, feasibility figure, or AI-generated output is:

  • Accurate, complete, or current;
  • Free from errors, omissions, or misattribution;
  • Up to date with the latest planning scheme amendments, re-zonings, overlays, or title/encumbrance changes;
  • Suitable for any particular purpose or decision;
  • A substitute for a registered survey, title search, or professional advice.

Feasibility calculations, cashflow models, financing outputs, development-potential estimates, and similar results are indicative only. They depend on assumptions you enter (or that are imported or defaulted) and on third-party data that may be wrong or incomplete.

You must independently verify all material information with the relevant council, state planning authority, land titles office, and/or qualified professional advisors before making any property, planning, investment, lending, or development decision.

5. No professional advice

Nothing on the Platform constitutes town-planning advice, legal advice, financial product advice, tax advice, valuation advice, or investment advice. You should obtain independent advice from appropriately qualified professionals (including registered town planners, solicitors, conveyancers, surveyors, accountants, and financial advisors) before acting.

6. Accounts and company workspaces

You agree to:

  • Provide accurate registration information and keep it up to date;
  • Keep account credentials confidential and not share login access except as permitted for your organisation’s authorised users;
  • Be responsible for activity under your account, including activity by users you invite to a company workspace;
  • Notify us promptly at [email protected] if you suspect unauthorised access.

Company administrators control membership and may access shared projects, studies, and documents within that workspace. You must only invite people who are authorised to access that organisation’s content.

7. Subscriptions, fees, and billing

Some features require a paid subscription or other fees as described on our pricing pages or in a separate order/enterprise agreement.

  • Fees are generally charged in Australian dollars (AUD) unless otherwise stated, and may be exclusive or inclusive of GST as indicated at checkout or on invoice;
  • Payment is processed by our payment provider (Stripe). You authorise us (and Stripe) to charge your nominated payment method for applicable fees and taxes;
  • Subscriptions may renew automatically until cancelled in accordance with the cancellation path in the product or by contacting us;
  • Unless required by law or expressly stated otherwise, fees are non-refundable once a billing period has started;
  • We may change prices or plans with reasonable notice for the next renewal period. Continued use after the change takes effect constitutes acceptance;
  • Failure to pay may result in suspension or termination of paid features.

If you have a separate written agreement with us (for example Enterprise), that agreement prevails over these Terms to the extent of any inconsistency.

8. Your content

“User Content” means data, documents, notes, feasibility inputs, assumptions, prompts, and other material you (or your organisation) submit to the Platform.

  • You retain ownership of your User Content (subject to third-party rights in any material you upload);
  • You grant us a worldwide, non-exclusive licence to host, process, transmit, display, and create derivative technical outputs from User Content solely to provide, secure, and improve the Platform and features you use (including AI features you invoke);
  • You represent that you have the rights needed to submit User Content and that doing so does not breach law or third-party rights;
  • You must not upload unlawful content, malware, or sensitive personal information that is not reasonably necessary for your use of the service.

How we handle personal information is described in our Privacy Policy.

9. AI-assisted features

Some features use machine-learning models (for example PDF import extraction and study chat / retrieval-augmented answers). When you use those features:

  • Relevant text may be sent to our AI processing providers to generate a response;
  • Outputs may be inaccurate, incomplete, or fabricated. You must review and verify all AI outputs before relying on them;
  • AI features do not replace professional judgment or independent verification of planning, legal, or financial matters.

10. Acceptable use

You must use the Platform only for lawful purposes and in accordance with our Acceptable Use Policy. Without limiting that policy, you must not:

  • Scrape, harvest, or bulk-download Platform data without prior written consent;
  • Reverse engineer, decompile, or circumvent security or access controls;
  • Interfere with Platform integrity, availability, or other users;
  • Misrepresent your identity or affiliation;
  • Use the Platform to breach privacy, IP, or other laws;
  • Resell, sublicense, or commercially redistribute Platform data or outputs except as expressly permitted for your internal business use or under a written licence from us.

11. Intellectual property

The Platform — including software, design, branding, UI, documentation, and original content — is owned by Slate Projects Pty Ltd (trading as Land Axis) or its licensors and is protected by Australian and international intellectual property laws.

Third-party and government datasets displayed on the Platform remain the property of their respective owners and may be subject to those owners’ licence terms.

Subject to these Terms and your subscription, we grant you a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable licence to access and use the Platform for your internal personal or business purposes. No other rights are granted by implication.

12. Third-party services and data

The Platform relies on third-party infrastructure and data sources, including map providers, cloud hosts, payment processors, AI providers, and government or open-data agencies (for example Victorian planning and cadastral datasets). We do not control and are not responsible for the accuracy, completeness, currency, or availability of third-party services or data. Your use of third-party services may also be subject to those third parties’ terms.

13. Availability and changes

We aim to keep the Platform available but do not guarantee uninterrupted or error-free operation. We may modify, suspend, or discontinue the Platform (or any part of it) at any time. We may update these Terms by posting a revised version on this page and updating the “Last updated” date. For material changes we may provide additional notice. Continued use after the effective date constitutes acceptance to the extent permitted by law.

14. Suspension and termination

We may suspend or terminate access immediately if you breach these Terms or the Acceptable Use Policy, if required by law, or if needed to protect the Platform or other users. You may stop using the Platform at any time and may cancel a paid subscription in accordance with section 7.

On termination, your right to access the Platform ends. Provisions that by nature should survive (including disclaimers, liability limits, IP ownership, and governing law) continue to apply.

15. Limitation of liability

TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY APPLICABLE LAW, SLATE PROJECTS PTY LTD (TRADING AS LAND AXIS) AND ITS DIRECTORS, OFFICERS, EMPLOYEES, AGENTS, CONTRACTORS, AND DATA SUPPLIERS SHALL NOT BE LIABLE FOR ANY:

  • Indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or pure economic loss;
  • Loss of profits, revenue, data, goodwill, or business opportunity;
  • Loss arising from reliance on inaccurate, incomplete, or missing data or AI outputs;
  • Loss arising from planning, investment, lending, or development decisions taken based on Platform information;
  • Loss or damage arising from errors, interruptions, or unavailability of the Platform;
  • Any other loss or damage, however arising, whether in contract, tort (including negligence), statute, or otherwise, except to the extent liability cannot be excluded.

Where liability cannot be fully excluded, our total aggregate liability arising out of or in connection with the Platform or these Terms is limited to the greater of AUD $100 or the amounts you paid to us for the Platform in the 12 months preceding the claim.

Nothing in these Terms excludes, restricts, or modifies any consumer guarantee, right, or remedy under the Australian Consumer Law or other law that cannot be excluded. Where we are permitted to limit such liability, our liability is limited (at our option) to resupplying the services or paying the cost of resupply.

16. Indemnity

You agree to indemnify and hold harmless Slate Projects Pty Ltd and its personnel from and against claims, losses, damages, and expenses (including reasonable legal costs) arising out of your User Content, your misuse of the Platform, or your breach of these Terms, except to the extent caused by our fraud or wilful misconduct.

17. Governing law

These Terms are governed by the laws of Victoria, Australia. Subject to any non-excludable rights, the courts of Victoria have exclusive jurisdiction over disputes arising out of or in connection with these Terms or your use of the Platform.

18. General

  • If any provision is unenforceable, the remaining provisions continue in full force;
  • Failure to enforce a provision is not a waiver of that provision;
  • These Terms (together with the Privacy Policy, Acceptable Use Policy, and any written order or enterprise agreement) are the entire agreement between you and us regarding the Platform;
  • You may not assign these Terms without our prior written consent. We may assign them in connection with a corporate reorganisation or sale of assets.
