Lesson 3 of 7

Build the revenue and cost workbook

8 min

Enter line items, use bundles, set GST, and heed benchmark warnings.

"Revenue & Costs" is the heart of the study — one combined workbook where revenue folds in at the top and costs follow beneath, ending in total development cost and gross profit. It is where most of your time goes.

  1. 1

Select "Revenue & Costs". The page is titled "Revenue & Cost Management".

  2. 2

Revenue categories are "Residential Sales", "Commercial Sales", "Car Parks" and "Other Revenue". Add a line, name it, then set "Units" and "Rate per unit", and a "Settlement month".

  3. 3

    Set the GST method

Beneath "Total revenue", the "Less GST" row carries a selector: "General tax rule", "Margin scheme", "Margin scheme (cost %)" or "Manual GST".

  4. 4

    Set the sales commission

  5. 5
