Lesson 2 of 4

Reconcile an imported study

5 min

Check an imported model against its source before you trust it.

An import saves the typing; reconciliation is the part that protects you. Work through this checklist before you present anything built on an imported model.

  1. 1

    Reconcile the totals

Compare the totals on "Revenue" and "Costs" with the source document's totals. A mismatch means a line was dropped, excluded or double-counted.

  2. 2

    Confirm the site inputs

Check "Site & project" on the "Start" sheet: the development type, site area, gross floor area, total units, start date and duration.

  3. 3

    Set the GST method

Open "Preferences" and set "GST treatment" to the method that applies to the deal.

  4. 4

    Rebuild the finance

  5. 5

    Check the timing

  6. 6

    Compare the results
