Lesson 3 of 4

Compare scenarios

5 min

Clone a study as a named variant and read the differences side by side.

Scenarios answer "what if". A scenario is an exact copy of the study at the moment you create it; you change the one assumption you are testing and the "Scenarios" tab shows both columns side by side.

  1. 1

    Open Scenarios

Select "Scenarios". With no variants yet, it says "Nothing to compare yet".

  2. 2

    Add a variant

Select "Add scenario" and complete "Name the variant" — describe what changes, not the project, for example "Land at $2.4M" or "Stage the build". Select "Create".

  3. 3

    Read the comparison

The table lists each metric down the "Metric" column with one column per scenario. The original is badged "Base"; every other column reads "vs base" and shows the land price in its header.

  4. 4

Open a variant to edit it

  5. 5

Use it as a negotiating tool
