This page is not written yet, and we would rather say so
The rest of this library is built on things that can be pointed at — a clause, a number, a mechanism with a citation. This control has none of those written up yet. Publishing it now would mean filling it with general planning commentary that reads well and cites nothing, which is the failure the other pages exist to avoid.
What a written page has to answer
- 01Which vegetation is actually protected, and which is exempt. The schedule names what the control is for, and the exemptions — dead or dangerous trees, declared weeds, works close to an existing building — are where most of the answer on a real site sits.
- 02The point that the overlay maps an area, not trees, shown with a real case rather than asserted. A cleared lot inside a VPO is still inside one, and what the permit reaches is what happens next.
- 03How it sits against the tree-canopy requirement already in the low-rise residential standards, so a reader can tell whether a VPO adds an obligation or restates one the site already carried.
In the meantime, you can check a property directly. Search an address on the home page and read the zone and overlays recorded against that land, or run the numbers in the quick feasibility calculator. The pages that are written are on the control index for Victoria.
